Jose Jimenez, 54, was found murdered on December 3, 1993, in his one-room apartment at 2108 East 28th Street in Lorain, Ohio. His landlord discovered him on the kitchen floor while attempting to collect overdue rent. The apartment showed signs of a struggle and Jimenez had been stabbed multiple times. A Ginsu knife with a 3.5-inch blade was lodged in a neck wound; the handle was missing and has never been recovered.
Neighbors reported a party in the apartment the night before, but none admitted being present or provided details. Witnesses said Jose was last seen with a Hispanic male in the early morning of December 2, a person who has not been identified. Despite investigations by the Lorain Police Department and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, no suspect has been developed and the case remains unsolved.
Anyone who knew Jose, was at that address around December 2–3, 1993, or has information about the unidentified man or the missing knife handle is asked to contact the Lorain Police Department or submit an anonymous tip.
