Has anyone else looked into weather conditions the night Roderick Shade vanished? Given Lake Ontario's size and unpredictability, I'm curious if anyone's checked historical weather data for September 12, 2005. Strong currents or sudden weather changes could have posed a threat, even for an experienced boater like Shade. It's strange how his gear was all set up, almost like he left in a hurry. I've read somewhere that sudden fog or high winds can seriously disorient boaters. Does anyone think it's possible that poor weather could've contributed to whatever happened that night?

I've been looking into the case of Roderick Shade, and there's something puzzling about the state his boat was found in. If the throttle was open and the lights were still on, it seems odd that the boat would come ashore without getting damaged on the rocks. Was the boat possibly guided in by someone, or was there something about the tides that day that led it safely to Moon Beach? It's also curious how an experienced fisherman like Roderick could have had an accident that resulted in him being completely missing, with such little evidence left behind. I wonder if anyone has ever looked into the weather conditions or if there were any other boats in the area at the time. Could those details provide any more clues about what might have happened?

Has anyone else found it strange that, even though Roderick Shade was such an experienced boater, his boat was just found with the lights on and throttle open? You'd think someone with his experience would handle things differently if he was in trouble. Also, the fact that he had just spoken to friends a few hours before on the marine radio makes it even more puzzling that he vanished without any trace shortly after. I've heard people mention a sudden change in weather in that area can really catch you off guard, but does anyone know if the weather was particularly bad that night? Just throwing some thoughts out there to see what others think about this odd aspect of the case.
