Did anyone else come across the detail about Kelly mentioning Matamoros in her last communication? I've been reading up on the history of that area, and it seems like it was known for being quite a dangerous place around the time Kelly was there. There's a lot of speculation about cartel activity in the region back then. With Ervin having his own set of legal issues, it's hard not to wonder if that played a role in their decision to head south. I know it's just one piece of a larger puzzle, but the choice to go to a place like Matamoros seems risky, especially given the circumstances. Does anyone have thoughts or additional info on that particular region or any patterns of disappearances during that period?
