I've been thinking about Bobby Linwood Barbers' disappearance from the *Gallant Fox*. Something that keeps puzzling me is why he wasn't wearing a life jacket when he fell overboard. I know that wearing a life jacket isn't always standard practice, especially when you're experienced and think you're just going about your routine tasks. But it was 5:00 a.m., people are typically tired during those shifts, and accidents can happen so easily. Did anyone mention if life jackets were usually worn during night shifts on that vessel? I feel like the lack of a life jacket was a crucial oversight here. Does anyone know if there were any specific safety protocols on the boat, or if it's common for crew members in that area to skip wearing them during those hours? I'm curious to hear what others have to say.
