Hey everyone, I’ve been doing a deep dive into the mysterious disappearance of Peggy Joyce Rusness and Bernard Rusness from 1976 and something that's been nagging at me is the vehicles they left behind. It just seems odd to me that all the vehicles were left with keys in the ignition. Why wouldn’t they take at least one of them if they left willingly? And if they were in a rush, why take the time to leave money uncollected and leave the hoods up on vehicles? I’m wondering if this suggests they were in some kind of immediate danger or caught off guard by something. Maybe the work on the truck was a cover for something else? It seems so deliberate to leave that much money behind, almost as if they were confident they'd be back. It's tantalizing to think about what might have been going through their minds that day. Anyone else have thoughts on what this could signify?

Does anyone else find it odd that everything, including the house and vehicles, was left so intact despite the fire? It seems like Peggy and Bernard had no intention of leaving permanently. Leaving behind keys in the ignitions and money in the bank doesn't scream planned departure. Even if they did survive the fire, running without any essentials like money or transportation doesn’t add up, especially back in '76. I keep coming back to their grocery shopping trip. What if they ran into someone that day, someone who followed them or knew them? Total speculation here, but maybe it set off a chain of events leading to that night. Can't shake the feeling that we're missing a key piece of this puzzle. Thoughts?
