Did anyone else come across the information about Brenda Crowley disappearing on March 1, 1979? I grew up in Staten Island and had never heard about her case until recently. What's baffling to me is how little information is out there about the circumstances surrounding her disappearance. I understand from reading some old articles that the late '70s and '80s were a time when missing persons cases often didn't get the attention they deserved, especially for teenagers who were often assumed to be runaways. She must have had friends and family who knew where she liked to hang out or her usual routines. Did any local folks from that time ever come forward with info that just didn’t gain traction back then? It's frustrating to think that maybe there was a piece of the puzzle that was simply overlooked or never reported.

Hey everyone, I recently stumbled upon Brenda Crowley's case from '79, and there's something that caught my attention. Has anyone else noticed how little media coverage this case had back in the day? It just seems odd, especially considering there were a few missing persons cases around that time which did get headlines. Staten Island’s a tight-knit community, so you’d think her disappearance might have stirred more public interest or media attention. It makes me wonder if there were factors at play that didn't really encourage a broader search effort or if there was something about the early investigation that kept it somewhat under the radar. Anyone with more knowledge of the media landscape at that time or the police practices in NY around the late 70s? I'd love to hear your thoughts on why some cases seemed to get more attention than others. Brenda’s case could really benefit from renewed public interest, in my opinion.

Hey everyone, I came across Brenda Crowley's case recently and was curious if anyone knew more about her friends or social circle around the time she disappeared? It’s so frustrating that there's so little information publicly available. I read somewhere that sometimes answers can be found by looking at who the person was close to or any changes in their friendships prior to the disappearance. Given how young Brenda was, I wonder if anyone from her school remembers anything unusual back then? School friends or teachers who might provide insight into her life around that time could potentially be key. It's a long shot given how much time has passed, but just thinking about how close this community is to understanding something important about what was going on with her at the time. If anyone has any more details or just thoughts on looking at it from this angle, I’m interested in discussing it!
