A recent theory I came across regarding James Hillis's disappearance is quite intriguing. Some locals mentioned that James had been keen on exploration and often took impromptu hikes in the surrounding areas of Bearbranch. There's a dense forest nearby that he might have ventured into. A few years back, a small group of hikers reported seeing some unusual items deep within the woods, but due to difficult terrain, they didn't explore further. Has there ever been a search organized to thoroughly check these harder-to-reach parts of the forest? Given the amount of time that's passed, there could be undiscovered clues there. If anyone's from the area or has any info on past search efforts in that region, it'd be great to share!
I was just thinking about how some of these cases really hinge on the tiniest detail that almost gets overlooked in the early stages. With James Hillis, for example, I wonder if there were any overlooked interactions or conversations he had in the days leading up to September 12, 1993. Given that he was such a well-known and liked figure in Bearbranch, did anyone check out if he mentioned any new plans or seemed worried about something? Sometimes, people drop small hints without realizing it. I feel like analyzing those little fragments could potentially piece together a bigger picture. Anyone local remember anything unusual from that time?
