Hey everyone,
I’ve been following the discussion about Virgil Lee’s tragic death, and something that sticks out to me is how the community is reacting. It’s really difficult to see a neighborhood like Hilltop, which already struggles so much with violence, have to deal with yet another loss. I can’t help wondering about the community support systems currently in place – do they have enough resources to help those affected by this tragedy? Are there any local outreach programs focused on violence prevention that we as a community can support or get involved with?
It’s also concerning how this incident involved such young individuals. Both Virgil and Mehki were just 18. It’s a reminder of how crucial it is to engage our youth in positive activities and provide them with alternatives to violence. Prayers and thoughts to Virgil’s family, and sending strength to the woman who was injured in the incident. We should all come together to help prevent such tragedies from happening again. Any suggestions on how the community can take action would be greatly appreciated.
