Hey everyone. I've been doing some digging on the Robert Wayne Turner case, and something that's really puzzling is the delay in reporting him missing. His brother didn't file the report until April 2000, which is several months after he was last seen. Does anyone here know if there was a specific reason for the delay? Was it just a matter of thinking he'd turn up, or could there have been something else going on that kept the family from reporting it sooner? It's such a long time to wait, and I've always wondered if this decision impacted the investigation. Would love to hear any insights or similar cases where late reporting played a role in the case's progression.

Has anyone looked deeper into the people Robert mentioned he was meeting with in Death Valley before he vanished? It seems strange to me that he was supposedly heading out there to meet folks, yet there's no record of who they were or if they even existed. I find it odd that this aspect hasn't been explored more. If he was planning on using those tools for a job in San Francisco, wouldn't whoever was hiring him be worth checking into as well? Maybe someone here knows more about who he was in contact with or can shed light on any leads the police might have regarding these mysterious "meetups." His brother reported him missing months later, so I wonder if there were any attempts to follow up on those connections in the meantime.
