Was anyone else aware that Tom Sayre had a pretty extensive knowledge of boating and the water? It's been discussed here and there, but I don't think people really get how experienced he was. I remember reading somewhere that he’d grown up around boats and even spent some of his early adult years working in the boating industry. This wasn't just a casual trip for him; he knew what he was doing. That makes his disappearance all the more puzzling to me. You'd think someone with his skills and experience wouldn't just vanish without a trace. Could there have been a mechanical failure or something unexpected that led to him not completing his journey? Or maybe someone else was involved? It's unsettling to think how a person could just vanish like that, especially considering his level of expertise. Would love to hear if anyone else has thoughts or theories on this aspect.
