Hey everyone,
I was reading up on the Mohammad Hussain Metla Jr. case, and something struck me about the travel logistics in these kinds of situations. How does someone manage to fly with an infant internationally, especially when flights are usually pretty diligent about checking travel documents? I mean, flying out from JFK to Dubai with a baby seems like it'd raise some flags, especially since there was a custody arrangement in place.
Maybe it's just me, but it seems like an airport or airline system would have some mechanism to catch situations like this, whether it's through flagged passports or some system that alerts over custodial disputes. I get that it's a huge volume of travelers, but it makes me wonder how Flora Mahmood managed to leave without anyone noticing something off.
Any thoughts on how this kind of thing could happen? Would love to hear if anyone else has insights into how these processes work or if more security layers have been added since 2004.
