Thomas Michael Thurston was 19 when he disappeared after a camping trip in the Cow Mountain area near Ukiah, California. He was last seen on November 7, 2005, when, at about 2:00 AM, he asked a friend to borrow a flashlight to go to the bathroom outside their tent and did not return. The friend searched and reported him missing the next day, triggering a search by the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Department that included deputies and volunteers but failed to locate him.
Thomas is described as about 6 feet tall, 160 to 170 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. His case remains open and is classified as endangered missing, and there have been few leads since that night. If anyone was at Cow Mountain on November 7–8, 2005, or has information about Thomas’s whereabouts, please contact the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Department.
