Does anyone else think it's strange that with all the technological advancements in search and rescue operations, Brian Jones's body has still not been recovered? I know the terrain around North Sister Mountain is incredibly challenging and dangerous, but it seems like there might be more that could be done now, even after all these years. Could there be any funding or resources that we're unaware of, or maybe even some new technology or methods for recovery that have been developed recently? I can't imagine the closure his family still needs. Just wondering if anyone here is familiar with similar cases and how they were eventually resolved.
Does anyone have more information about the companion who was climbing with Brian? It's always been a bit unclear to me how thoroughly their account was investigated. I mean, it's such a remote area and conditions were rough, so I get why errors might happen, but wasn't there any chance they could have been mistaken about what they saw? I know it sounds out there, but with no body recovered, it just seems like there's a lot left unanswered. Hoping for some insights from folks who are familiar with the investigation.
