I was reading about Suzanne Rae Justis and something that totally baffles me is the delay in reporting her missing until 1989. I can’t imagine the frustration and pain her family must’ve felt during all those years! It's so strange to think a young mother could vanish, and without any concrete developments for such a long time. Given Suzanne was last known to be in Portland and then intended to return to Eugene to pick up her son, I keep wondering if something might’ve happened during her travels. Did she try to make the trip back somehow and ran into trouble? With hitchhiking being somewhat common back then, who knows who she might have encountered? I hope someone with any little detail comes forward. Even after all these years, it could be critical. The not-knowing must be so difficult for those who remember and care about her case.

Does anyone have more information about the old phone booths in Portland during the 70s? Suzanne Rae Justis called her mom from one outside the Memorial Coliseum on November 5, 1973, which was one of her last known actions before she disappeared. It's interesting to look into whether there were any significant events at the Coliseum around that time or if there were reports of strange encounters near these phone booths. While it feels like such a small detail in the case, it could be key in painting a better picture of her final days. Maybe locals from that era might recall something? It's a long shot, but any insight could be valuable.

I came across some old newspaper articles about Suzanne Rae Justis and I'm curious if anyone has more context or details about her life in Eugene before she disappeared. It's baffling to think she wasn’t reported missing until 1989, which makes me wonder what the initial reactions were from her friends and family back in the 70s. Did people think she might have just started a new life? The gap between her disappearance and the report is so significant that it almost seems like there was an assumption of her safety for years. It's such a haunting case, and any additional insights would be appreciated. Why did it take so long for an official report?
