I can’t stop thinking about how Ricardo’s girlfriend and her mother are coping with everything. To come upon that scene and then realize it’s someone you knew—let alone someone so young and full of potential—must be unimaginable. I feel deeply for them and the entire community mourning this senseless loss. It’s so tragic that Ricardo, who was about to visit his mother in Mexico, had his life cut short like this. I hope the continued vigilance of the police and community will lead to answers and justice soon. No one should have to experience this kind of pain, and I pray for strength and healing for all who knew him. Little Village deserves better than this cycle of violence.
