Has anyone come across any accounts of missing persons where they left everything, even food still out? It's puzzling to me how Barbara Lee Elms, who had a reliable pattern of returning after her previous disappearances, vanished so abruptly this time, seemingly without a plan. Given the rainy night and the fact that she didn't take her belongings, it seems out of character. I wonder if the recent park assault had more of an impact on her mental health than anyone realized. Could it have led to a sudden decision to leave everything behind? Her leaving her Walkman on while heading out in such weather might suggest she was trying to escape into something more comforting than reality. Anyone else think that trauma might have triggered her disappearance this time?
