Has anyone delved into the frequency of John Gilardo's trips to Mexico right before his disappearance? It just puzzles me that authorities dismissed his sister's concern so quickly, assuming he had just crossed the border again. I'm wondering if something specific about those trips might reveal a clue. Did he have friends or a favorite spot he used to visit there? If anyone knows about areas he may have frequented, it might help piece together this puzzle. It’s odd that after all these years, there are no leads. Hoping someone out there remembers something useful!
Hi everyone,
I recently stumbled upon John Anthony Gilardo's case from San Diego, and there's one thing that bugs me—how on earth was someone not reported missing for almost 17 years? I get that John had a routine of traveling to Mexico, but shouldn't there have been some effort to verify he was okay during that time? It sounds like his sister did all she could, but the system's failure to treat his disappearance with urgency back then could’ve shut down leads before they even started. Did authorities ever look into any banking activity or cross-border movements that might have taken place during those early days? It's just frustrating that bureaucracy potentially stalled critical initial investigations. Does anyone know if there have been any changes in policy to prevent something similar in future cases?
Would love to hear your thoughts.
Hey everyone,
Has anyone else noticed how often authorities jump to conclusions in missing person cases, especially when it involves potential travel to places like Mexico? I was going through John Anthony Gilardo's case, and it's so frustrating to see that his disappearance wasn't fully investigated for almost 17 years! I get that he traveled to Mexico frequently, but assuming he went there without checking further seems like such a missed opportunity. I wonder if there would have been more evidence or leads if they had started looking sooner. It makes me think about how many other cases might be in a similar situation because of premature assumptions. What are everyone’s thoughts on protocols for missing persons who might have crossed borders? How can this be improved so fewer cases slip through the cracks?
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
