I've been following the tragic news coming out of Olmsted Falls and can't stop thinking about how the community must be feeling after losing Rita M. Galyas in such a senseless act of violence. Rita sounded like a kind soul who had been deeply rooted in the community for years, from her days working at A & F Machine Products Company until her recent retirement. I can't help but think of the peaceful pursuits she enjoyed—gardening, sewing, and bird watching—and how those simple, joyful activities must have brought a sense of calm and beauty into her life and to those around her. It's devastating that violence shattered what should have been her golden years, enjoying retirement and precious time with family and friends. My heart goes out to everyone who knew her and all of her neighbors who have been affected by the overwhelming chaos of the situation. I hope the 64-year-old woman involved gets the support she needs to heal from this traumatic ordeal. And for those in Olmsted Falls, I hope your tight-knit community finds strength and peace in honoring Rita's memory.
