I still can’t wrap my head around the whole situation with Brett Scrogham. With everything we’ve learned, I keep going back to the location of the crime—a bustling area with people around due to its proximity to the Indiana Convention Center. How did no one intervene or even notice until it was too late? It makes me wonder about how detached people can sometimes be, even in broad daylight, amidst all that activity. The fact that video footage was available hopefully means justice will follow its course, but it's a bitter pill to swallow knowing the potential for a different outcome. Are our public spaces becoming too anonymous, where something so terrible can happen, and life continues around it as if nothing occurred? My heart goes out to Brett's family and friends as they navigate through this tragedy. Losing someone so young and vibrant is beyond painful, and I just hope that through this, something changes for the better in terms of community awareness and response.
