I can't stop thinking about the unfortunate timing of what happened to Ricardo Jones. It’s chilling to think that he was just waiting for a bus early on a Sunday morning, like so many others do every day. I keep wondering about the regular folks who were likely in that neighborhood at the time, perhaps people heading to work or coming off a night shift. They might have witnessed something they're not even aware of yet. In such a close-knit area, it’s hard to believe someone doesn’t have a piece of the puzzle that could help the investigation. The fact that Jones's death is part of this disturbing trend of violence in Richmond makes it feel even more tragic. It underscores how necessary those recent community gatherings against gun violence truly are. My heart goes out to his loved ones and the wider community, who are undoubtedly feeling both personal and collective grief in the wake of this. Hopefully, with public cooperation, justice will be served for Jones and others affected by this surge in violence. If anyone has even the slightest lead, please reach out to authorities. This is someone’s son, friend, and perhaps brother or partner, and his life matters.
