I just keep thinking about how Michael Garcia had dedicated so much of his life to serving his country and then chose New Orleans, a place he loved, to settle down and build his new life. It’s so unfair that he was taken from us in such a violent and random act. You can tell how much he meant to everyone around him—from hosting neighborhood crawfish boils to being remembered as a "shining light." It’s commendable to see his community rally around his family and honor his memory, but it just underscores how senseless this tragedy was. Has anyone else been following the developments with the suspects? It's somewhat reassuring that the police have acted swiftly, but I can't help but wonder how many more families have to suffer before something changes? Keeping Michael's family and friends in my thoughts; they must be going through so much right now. ?
