I’ve been thinking a lot about what happened to Kayla at her birthday gathering, and one thing that’s truly frustrating is how a celebration can spiral into such a tragedy. It’s heart-wrenching to think that a disagreement between attendees could lead to such a devastating loss. There’s no justification for the violence that occurred, and my heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved Kayla. We can only hope that the ongoing investigation brings some answers and peace to those affected. It’s alarming to me that the individual responsible is still out there, and I’m hoping anyone with information will step up so that justice can be served. Kayla seemed to be such a bright light in her community, and her contributions, especially as a mentor, left a real impact. Let's keep her in our thoughts and support her family and friends in this challenging time.
