I can't stop thinking about the time and place this tragedy happened. Being New Year's Eve, the start of 2007 was meant to be a fresh beginning, filled with hope and celebration. Instead, it turned into a nightmare for Marquita Akin's family and friends, who should have been welcoming the new year with joy. I can only imagine how surreal and painful it must have been for her loved ones to transition from celebrating to mourning within a matter of hours. It's moments like these that make me realize how fragile life can be and how quickly things can change. I hope someone out there who may have seen or heard anything that night will step up. It may not bring back their cherished Marquita, but at least it could provide some answers and possibly some peace to those who cared about her. For her family, having some closure might help them cope with this unimaginable loss. Let's continue to remember Marquita and support her family in their quest for justice.

I’ve been thinking a lot about Marquita Akin’s case and the impact it must have had on her friends who were there that night. Imagine experiencing such a traumatic event and losing someone dear to you so suddenly. I can’t even begin to comprehend the fear and helplessness they felt as they rushed her to the hospital, hoping against hope that she would pull through. It must be incredibly difficult for them to deal with not only their grief but also the frustration of knowing that her killer is still out there. I really hope that someone with information will come forward soon. The community needs closure, and Marquita’s family and friends deserve answers. Every piece of information, no matter how small, could be pivotal. Let's hope the right person hears this and does the right thing.

I’ve been thinking a lot about Marquita Akin's case lately. It's like it just vanished into thin air right after it happened, and that's not right. The last anyone talked about was how a witness might have seen someone running from the scene, but still no leads? Someone out there knows something. It's unimaginable what her family must be going through, living with this unresolved pain day after day. I really wish there was more media attention on this case - it deserves visibility so that justice can finally be served. If you're in the Buffalo area, please spread the word. The smallest detail might be the one that cracks this case open. #JusticeForMarquita
