Marquita Antoinette Akin, an 18-year-old African-American female from Buffalo, New York, was tragically murdered on January 1, 2007. Her body was discovered on that same day, marking one of the earliest homicides in Buffalo for that year. She was laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Buffalo.
