This whole situation is just so tragic and serves as a stark reminder of the complexities surrounding restraining orders and domestic abuse cases. I can't stop thinking about how the system seemed to have failed Dalana Charlot. It’s so tough to hear she had taken steps to protect herself but, for whatever reason, wasn’t able to follow through with it in February. I really feel for Dalana’s family, especially her kids. They’ve lost a caring mother who obviously meant the world to them. It must be incredibly difficult to make sense of something so senseless. Sending love and strength to her family as they navigate this terrible loss. I hope that more awareness and better systems can come from discussing tragedies like this. It’s crucial that we as a community support those in need and push for changes that might prevent another such case in the future.
