I've been thinking a lot about the Chaffin case recently. It aches to imagine a little girl losing both her parents in such a tragic way, especially during what should be a time of celebration. It's unfathomable to think how this will shape her understanding of family and holidays moving forward. I hope she gets the love, support, and counseling she needs from her family and community to help navigate through such a devastating event. The ripple effects of these tragedies are always larger than anticipated, and it breaks my heart thinking of all the questions and emotions she must be facing. Anyone else wondering how communities can better support kids who go through something like this?
