Hey all, just diving into some aspects of the Luis Flores case and something struck me. So, it’s clear that Kenyatta Austin was already serving a life sentence at the time he was sentenced for Luis's murder. It makes me wonder about the justice system's approach to concurrent sentencing. I know Austin won't be getting out, but does this method truly address the pain and loss felt by Luis's family? It seems like more needs to be said about the impact on victims’ families when sentences are handed down like this. My heart goes out to Luis's loved ones. Justice can be so complicated sometimes. Would love to hear others' thoughts on this.

I was reading about Luis Flores's murder on East Ferry Street, and it's just so gut-wrenching to think about how his young life was cut short. It's even more distressing knowing that Kenyatta Austin was already serving a life sentence for another violent crime. How does a person end up committing so much violence? My heart goes out to Luis's family and friends, who must endure this forever void. Concurrent sentences can feel like there's no added justice for each of the victims, doesn't it? I can't even imagine the pain felt by all involved, knowing Austin won't spend a single extra day in prison for taking Luis's life. What can be done differently to prevent such repeat offenses?

Hi everyone, I've been following the Luis Flores case, and I've been thinking a lot about the impact this has had on his family and friends. It must be incredibly tough for them to find any sense of closure knowing that his killer, Kenyatta Austin, was already serving a life sentence for another crime. It seems so unfair that they don't get a sense of justice with the additional 20-year sentence not really meaning anything extra since it's concurrent. I can't imagine how hard it is for them to process this. Also, the location where this happened, East Ferry Street, is notorious for incidents like this. I hope there are efforts to make that area safer so we can prevent more tragedies like this in the future. Anyone heard of any community efforts or changes being proposed in Buffalo? Sending my thoughts to those close to Luis. He deserved so much more. Stay safe out there, everyone.
