I've been following Londyn Major's case and my heart goes out to her family. Losing two children to gun violence must be unimaginably painful. I read that Londyn was an honor roll student and loved painting and cooking. It breaks my heart that such a promising young life is gone. I can't help but think about the ripple effects of her death on her school community at Tech Freire Charter High. Teenage years should be a time for hopes and dreams, not for attending funerals of classmates. I hope this case brings more attention to gun safety and the pressing issues surrounding firearms in homes across the country. It's sad that such calls to action are often sparked by tragedy. Londyn's family seems determined to change things for the better, and I truly hope their advocacy can prevent similar tragedies in the future. My thoughts are with them as they navigate through this abyss of loss.
