I've been reading about Martin Recio's case, and something that really stands out to me is the difficulty his family must be facing with the sluggish progress in getting justice. It's been over a year since Derreck Flocco was charged, and I can only imagine the frustration and pain that comes from waiting for a resolution. A young life lost so senselessly, and yet it feels like the system is moving at a snail's pace. I truly hope that justice speeds up for Martin's family, and that they finally get the closure they deserve. Anyone else following up on what might be causing the delay?

Has anyone else been following the developments in Martin Recio's case? I can't stop thinking about how terrifying it must have been for Martin and his friends that night outside Dion's. The fact that his two friends were also injured shows how chaotic the scene must have been. It's just awful to imagine young adolescents caught up in such a dangerous situation. What's also been bothering me is how long it took to catch up with Derreck Flocco. Over a year on the run, and he was believed to be hiding in California. It's unsettling that it took so much time to bring him back and hold him accountable. I truly hope Martin's family finds some comfort and can start to see justice served soon. Nobody should have to go through this kind of loss. My thoughts are with everyone who loved Martin.
