I’ve been thinking a lot about that drive on Harlan Springs Road and it just makes my heart ache. I keep wondering how a simple argument in a car escalated to such a tragic outcome. The most striking thing for me is how split-second decisions can change lives so dramatically. How many times have we all had arguments or misunderstandings in cars, yet for Landis, one additional passenger turned what might have been a regular night into this horrific incident? I just can’t shake the sadness thinking about what his family must be going through, knowing that he was their eldest son and a big brother who had so much to offer. The way the community has rallied around them shows how deeply felt this tragedy is. It’s overwhelming to consider all the lives affected in just those few seconds. I hope that the investigation brings some clarity, though I know nothing can ever truly make sense of such a terrible loss.
