I’ve been following the details emerging about the tragic loss of Mickey Lee Goodman, and something keeps tugging at my mind about the location of the incident. The E-Z Stop gas station is a place many of us locals pass by or stop at regularly. It’s surreal to think of such a violent act happening there, a spot many of us consider part of our daily lives.
I can’t help but wonder about the surveillance footage from that night. The cameras might have captured more than just the immediate altercation. Perhaps they reveal something about the mood or intentions of either Mickey or Jayson in the moments leading up to the incident. I just hope that it gives some semblance of closure to Mickey's family and friends. It’s a reminder of how important it is for community businesses to have working cameras. It’s tough seeing a familiar place in such a dark light, and my heart goes out to everyone involved, especially those in Ocoee who knew Mickey personally.
I’ve been thinking a lot about the surveillance footage from the E-Z Stop where Mickey Lee Goodman was shot. I can’t even imagine what it’s like for Mickey’s family knowing there’s potentially more evidence out there that could shed light on what happened that night. It must be incredibly tough to wait for the details to unfold. The fact that the footage helped lead to an arrest so quickly is a sign that the investigators are on top of things, but it doesn’t erase the tragedy or the pain for those who knew Mickey. My thoughts are with his loved ones as they navigate through this terrible time. Is anyone in the community planning any gatherings or vigils in his memory? I would love to support in any way possible.
