I’ve been following Tito Bartolo Walton Jr.'s tragic case, and it just tears me apart to think about his family and what they must be going through. Last night, I couldn’t get it out of my mind how close this shooting was to Greenville Park. It's such a popular spot for kids and families, especially being near schools and all. It's terrifying to think that something so violent could happen in a place where our children should feel safe. The fact that a 14-year-old has been arrested is shocking. I can't help but think about both families involved. A young life was lost, and another is forever changed. It's a somber reminder that our youth are facing issues and environments that lead to such devastating actions. I can't imagine the pain Tito's family is feeling right now. My heart goes out to them. Hopefully, this case can raise awareness about what’s happening on our streets and prompt some changes. Be it through better community programs or more support for our youth, something needs to be done. Let's keep Tito in our thoughts and push for safer spaces for all our community's children.
