I was recently reading about Walter App and it struck me how critical the timing and coordination of search and rescue efforts are during natural disasters. Hurricane Irene created such a chaotic environment with resources stretched so thin. I can only imagine how difficult it was for emergency services to effectively organize searches in the midst of such widespread devastation. Have any professionals or volunteers involved in the search efforts for missing persons during Hurricane Irene ever shared insights? It would be interesting to understand what strategies or improvements, if any, were developed from the experience. It seems like a logistical nightmare, and any lessons learned could be crucial for future disaster response scenarios.
