It's so difficult to imagine the pain Mikhail Bowers' family and friends must be feeling right now. I was particularly struck by the account of his family’s balloon release and the heartfelt messages recalling him as a quiet, kind soul. It’s haunting to think of how a holiday meant for celebration ended in such tragedy. My heart goes out to his young child who has to grow up without a father—how incredibly unjust. It seems like every time I hear about tragedies like this, they feel closer to home. The fact that no arrests have been made yet is frustrating. We can only hope that people will come forward with information so that justice can be served for Mikhail and Amya Devlin. I also can’t stop thinking about the number of people who were there that night; surely, someone saw something that could help. If you're in the area and have even the smallest detail, please share it with the police. I can't imagine how hard this is for the victims' families, but as a community, we owe it to them to help bring some semblance of peace and justice. Let's hope more community-led initiatives can help with these investigations.
