Did anyone else notice how the area around Bruckner and East 136th Street has barely any streetlights? It's like a ghost town. I can't help but think the lack of lighting in the area might have played a role in how this whole tragic situation unfolded. Darkness can offer too much cover, making it easier for criminal acts to go unseen. I hope the city takes note and thinks about improving street lighting in this neighborhood—maybe it could help prevent similar tragedies in the future. My heart goes out to John Medina's family and friends, who've lost someone so dear. Just another reminder of how unpredictable and fleeting life can be.
