Hey everyone, I’ve been following the tragic case of Juan Javier Lujan Garces and couldn’t stop thinking about the impact his absence must be having on the kids he drove to school every day. It’s so sad to think about the students who are used to seeing his familiar face every morning. It's not just the big events that change with something like this; it's all those little parts of daily life that we often take for granted. The school district's statement about Juan made it clear how much he meant to the community. Imagine the kids who’ll now have to adjust not only to a new bus driver but to the loss of a part of their daily routine. It must be so confusing and painful for them, especially since school bus drivers often become such an important and steady presence in a child's life. If anyone here is from Las Cruces, have there been efforts to provide support or counseling to the students or staff affected by Juan’s passing? I hope there will be a way for the community to come together and honor his contributions to the city. Keeping Juan’s family, friends, and the many students he drove safe each day in my thoughts.
