Hey everyone, I've been thinking a lot about the ShotSpotter alerts and how they played a critical role in responding to what happened to Jeramahia Bascal. It's devastating to imagine how chaotic that night must have been and how grateful we should be for technologies like this that help the police respond faster. However, it raises questions about areas that don't have access to such resources. Would the outcome have been different if the alert hadn't gone off in time? It's hard not to feel for Jeramahia's family and friends, having to deal with this loss without any solid answers or progress on the case. I hope the investigation gains more ground soon so that they can find some semblance of peace, knowing justice is being pursued, and so that fewer families have to experience this type of tragedy. Does anyone have thoughts on how technology could be better integrated into crime prevention or solving these cases more effectively?
