Hey everyone,
I've been reading through the details surrounding Jakevion Manuel's tragic death, and I can’t stop thinking about the impact this has had on his school community. Being only 15 and a student of Greenwood High School, he must have been known by so many students and teachers. I imagine the halls of that school must feel so empty and different now.
My thoughts are with his classmates and teachers who are not only grappling with the loss of a friend and student but also trying to come to terms with this violence so close to home. It’s devastating to think about the discussions that must be happening in classrooms and how the school is supporting their students. I hope the community is rallying around them and offering the support they need to heal and feel safe again.
If anyone has insight into how the school is handling this or knows of ways to support the students there, it would be great to share here. We might not be able to change what happened, but offering support can make a difference.

Has anyone else been following the devastating loss of Jakevion Manuel in Greenwood? I can't stop thinking about the senselessness of this tragic shooting. From what I've gathered, he was just a high school student walking with a friend when this nightmare unfolded. It breaks my heart seeing his young life cut short under such violent circumstances.
I've been reading some local news and forums, and one thing that really stirred me is how tight-knit the Greenwood community seems to be. It sounds like everyone’s really rallying to support his family in this painful time. Even small gestures, like the memorials and the services at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, seem to show how much Jakevion was loved and how deeply he’ll be missed by those who knew him.
It's frustrating and upsetting that there still seems to be no solid leads on a suspect. Hopefully, someone will come forward with information soon. My thoughts are with Jakevion’s family and friends—no one should have to endure this kind of pain. If anyone has updates or knows ways to help the family, sharing them might bring some comfort to those wanting to show they care.
