I've been following the tragic case of Lamarr Barber, and my heart goes out to his family and friends during this unimaginably difficult time. One detail I'm curious about is the role that the location might have played in the escalation of the incident. From what multiple reports have mentioned, it seems like there’s some confusion about whether this confrontation actually happened at the City Smoke shop or a gas station on the 7000 block of South Damen. Does anyone who’s familiar with this neighborhood know if there have been previous issues at this location? I’m wondering if it's more of a hotspot for trouble, or if it's generally a peaceful spot and this was out of the ordinary. Sending all my love to anyone who knew Lamarr—hoping for clarity and some form of justice soon.
