There’s something incredibly unnerving about the randomness of Lavonte X. Hodges' murder. It makes me think of all the times I’ve walked down a street, lost in thoughts, and how quickly everything can change. I can’t stop wondering about the black sedan. Was it sitting there for a while, watching and waiting? Did it randomly choose Lavonte that morning? For the witnesses and the community, it must be terrifying not knowing if or when it might happen again. It's reassuring, in a way, to see neighbors rallying around the woman who was with him, helping her hold onto normalcy in those first unbearable minutes after the shooting. But it's still chilling. We always talk about 'wrong place, wrong time,' but this was his neighborhood. How do we come to terms with that kind of randomness? I hope the detectives can piece together the clues quickly. Lavonte’s story shouldn’t be just another untold chapter in a city tired of violence. For his family and friends, I wish for answers and justice soon.
