I’ve been following the case of Kionyah Shorts and am struck by how quickly the investigation moved from the initial incident to an arrest in just a few days. It’s incredible how the police managed to piece things together under such pressure. While they haven't released much about the evidence or motive, I find myself wondering how they zeroed in on Damon Garcia so swiftly after what seemed like an unpredictable attack. It feels like there are so many stories left untold about that night and what led to such a tragic loss. Thinking of Kionyah's family and friends during this difficult time. I can’t imagine the anguish of losing someone so young and full of potential in such a sudden and senseless manner. It’s important to remember that behind the news headlines, there’s a family and community trying to make sense of a future without her. Sending strength and love to all who are grieving Kionyah’s untimely death.
