I've been following the tragic case of Steven A. Lares and Terrell Devon Wyatt, and it deeply saddens me to see yet another instance of senseless violence in our communities. What strikes me the most is the time and location of this terrible event. North Laramie Avenue isn't typically viewed as a high-crime area compared to some other parts of Chicago, yet this shocking crime occurred just before midnight. It makes you wonder about the boldness of the perpetrator who approached a car with two grown men and committed such an unspeakable act. There’s little known about motives for now, but it seems crucial that anyone with information steps forward. It's haunting to think of how quickly the assailant vanished into the city night without leaving many clues. My heart truly goes out to their families and all those affected by this devastating loss. They deserve some closure, and we hope justice is served. If anyone in the community has seen or heard anything, even the smallest detail might help detectives in piecing together what led to this tragedy.
