Hey everyone, I've been following the tragic case of Rownee Ortiz-Ocasio and wanted to discuss something that’s been on my mind. While we don’t have all the answers yet, I wanted to talk about the role that community safety plays in incidents like these. It's truly disheartening to think that something so violent could happen in someone’s own home, a place where we’re supposed to feel safest. The Azalea Ridge Apartments—like many other complexes—are homes to so many families, young professionals, and people just starting out like Rownee was. When such a shocking event occurs, it leaves everyone living there feeling vulnerable. I think it really highlights the importance of community and tenant support systems in apartment complexes. From neighborhood watch groups to better lighting and security measures, there are ways communities can pull together to support one another and help prevent these kinds of tragedies. I think it's critical for us to advocate for better security and community programs to prevent future incidents. Are there any local initiatives or programs that you think could make a difference?
