According to Deloris, David had forced her at gunpoint to help him move Marie's remains into the Nevada desert in 1980. She described how they initially buried Marie's body along U.S. Route 95, past Indian Springs. Deloris also stated that several months later, David compelled her to assist in moving the body to a new, deeper grave, which he then covered with cement. Despite her efforts, Deloris was unable to pinpoint the exact location of the grave for investigators. Tragically, Deloris passed away from natural causes in 1987, leaving her shocking testimony as a important, yet unresolved, piece of the puzzle.
David Morgan has been considered the prime suspect not only in the disappearances of his wife and her lover but also in the later disappearances of a former business associate, Donald Cowan, in 1982, and his girlfriend, Diana Leone, in 2000. In 2007, he was arrested and charged with the murder of Gabriel Vincent after a witness came forward claiming to have seen the crime. However, the case against him was ultimately dropped in 2012 because the witness had died, and prosecutors felt they could not proceed without this key testimony.
