I've been following the case of Airean Carr, and something that really strikes me is how another young life has been lost to gun violence, leaving his family and even his own child to deal with such immense grief. It's profoundly sad to think of the future that Airean and his child have been robbed of. I live not too far from the Chickasaw neighborhood, and it's unsettling knowing that something so tragic happened just down the street from homes and families. The community is clearly hurt—just look at the online memorials and tributes pouring in. I really hope that someone steps forward with information to help the police bring some answers and justice to Airean’s family. Sending my thoughts to them—it’s hard to imagine what they’re going through right now.
