I can't stop thinking about how brave Luis must have been in those terrifying moments. He was only 15, but he stepped up to protect his family without a second thought. It's just so incredibly tragic that he had to pay the ultimate price for such courage. My heart aches for his family, especially his younger sibling who witnessed and endured such horror at a tender age. I've seen that the community is rallying around them, which is the silver lining in all this darkness. It gives me hope to see people come together, but it's still hard to process such a senseless act. Holding them all in my thoughts during this incredibly difficult time.
I'm just devastated reading about Luis Jocsan Nanez Lopez. That young boy had his whole life ahead of him, and it breaks my heart to think about what his family must be going through right now. I can only imagine what a brave soul he was to step in and try to protect his mom and sibling from such horror. It's encouraging to see the community, and even local banks, stepping up to support his family during this unimaginably difficult time.
It makes me sick to my stomach to think that Gildardo Amador Martinez was identified so quickly, but what kind of society are we living in where a child has to face such violent circumstances? I really hope justice is served, and I offer all my thoughts and prayers to Luis’ family and to his sibling who is still recovering. Does anyone know if there are any online fundraisers for the family? It's nice to see how communities can come together in tragedy, but every bit helps.
