I've been following the discussion about John Edward Harris's tragic death, and one thing that really stands out to me is the apparent lack of safety measures that were effective during his situation. Although there were systems in place like emergency lights, it seems like they might not have been used or were perhaps ineffective in preventing what happened. It's so frustrating, especially considering this wasn't the first incident involving a cab driver in Vegas around that time. It makes you wonder if there were systemic issues in the way cab companies handled driver safety. I hope that by discussing it now, we can bring some attention back to these safety concerns and maybe learn more from those who might have experience in this field. My heart goes out to Harris's family and all the drivers who had to fear for their lives during their shifts.

Hey everyone, I’ve been thinking about the safety measures in place for cab drivers back in the late 90s, especially after the tragic murder of John Edward Harris. It really makes me wonder how effective those emergency lights were or if they provided any real sense of security at all. If they weren’t visible or noticeable enough, that’s a huge issue, right? Back then, cab drivers had such a risky job, and it feels like they didn’t have enough tools to protect themselves. Was there any follow-up to improve those safety measures after Harris’s death? Did it prompt any changes in regulations for cab companies in Las Vegas following those back-to-back tragedies? It must've been such a terrifying time for his fellow drivers and colleagues, just doing their jobs and worrying if the same could happen to them. I’m hoping we can find some updates on what happened after his murder in terms of safety reforms. My heart goes out to John’s family and friends, as well as all the cab drivers who had to face such dangers day in and day out. They really deserved so much better in terms of safety and protection. Would love to hear your thoughts or any additional info you might have on this. Thanks!
