I find it puzzling how, despite Isaac Roberts being a seasoned outdoorsman, the rugged terrain of the Wallowa County area seems to have swallowed him whole. I’ve been digging through the old reports, and something that stands out is how the search and rescue teams used aerial reconnaissance alongside ground searches. Given the dense forest, do you think it’s possible he could have ended up in some heavily canopied area that was missed from the air? I know the terrain can be pretty unforgiving, but it’s like he vanished into thin air. Could there be undiscovered paths or crevices in the area that locals or hikers might know about? I’m curious if the community has any theories or if anyone has suggested using newer technology, like drones, to revisit those spots. Anyone familiar with the area have thoughts on this?
Hey everyone,
I was going through old missing persons cases and came across Isaac Roberts from Joseph, Oregon. I'm curious if anyone has heard any new developments or theories about what might have happened to him. I know he went missing in the Wallowa County area, which is known for its tough terrain. Has anyone here hiked those trails? I'm wondering if there are any spots in particular that might have been overlooked or areas that some of the search teams couldn’t easily access back then. Given the passage of time, it's possible that clues could have been moved or uncovered in the intervening years.
Also, with Isaac being an experienced outdoorsman, what are your thoughts on potential survival scenarios or things that might have gone unnoticed? Any insight would be appreciated. It’s just unsettling knowing someone could vanish like that, and his family is still left with so many questions.
I was just revisiting Isaac Roberts' case, and something caught my interest that I haven't seen discussed much. Wallowa County is notorious for its sudden weather changes. I’m wondering if unexpected weather might have played a role in Isaac's disappearance. Even the most experienced outdoorsmen can find themselves in trouble if caught off guard by a sudden storm or temperature drop. Has anyone looked into the weather conditions around the time he went missing? It might provide some clues or at least help us understand the challenges he could have faced. Would love to hear your thoughts or if anyone has access to historical weather data for July 2012 in that area.
