Has anyone else wondered why it took the neighbor so long to come forward about what they saw? I get that they were scared of Harry's threats, but it just seems odd to hold onto something that serious for over 50 years. I know times were different back then, and people generally were more reluctant to get involved in what they considered "family matters," but it still makes me think about what might have happened if someone had reported it sooner. It’s frustrating to think that maybe Mildred’s case might have had a different trajectory if this information had reached the authorities earlier. I guess fear can be a powerful thing, especially if Harry was as violent as people say. What do you guys think? Would love to hear other people's thoughts on this aspect of the case.
