I’ve been thinking a lot about Kathy Gaarde lately, especially since she seemed like such a compassionate soul. It's truly difficult to grasp how this tragic event took the life of someone so involved and caring. What struck me most was reading about her deep love for animals. I can only imagine the joy that the Virginia branch of the Humane Society brought to her, and it’s touching that her family requested donations be made there in her honor. For someone as dedicated to her community and wildlife as Kathy was, it speaks volumes about her character. Those who knew her were truly fortunate to have had her in their lives. It’s comforting, in a small way, to know that her legacy lives on through the contributions made in her name to causes she cared deeply about. I'm sure those memories and the positive impact she left behind must be a small solace for her family and friends during such an unimaginable time. Sending out love and strength to those who were close to Kathy.
